Submission Guidelines

We are currently assembling the inaugural issue. Many thanks to all those who submitted. Check back in the spring!

Prose: 6,000 words max. 
Poetry: 2-5 poems at a time. 
Artwork: 5-8 pieces at a time. 

Simultaneous submissions are allowed and encouraged.
Previously published material is also accepted, just make sure that you have permission from the original publisher. All rights revert back to you after publication. If you elect to publish your piece elsewhere, you agree to cite Speakasy Magazine as the original publisher.

Send fiction and nonfiction submissions to alex@speakeasymag.org. 

Send art and poetry submissions to jorge@speakeasymag.org. 

We condemn and reject all forms of racism, homophobia, hate speech, transphobia, and xenophobia. Any submissions promoting such attitudes will be subject to immediate blocking. They are not compatible with the values and principles upon which the magazine was founded. We strive to uphold a culture of respect, inclusion, and equality.

We do regret that we're unable to compensate artists for their work at this time. We aspire to have the wherewithal to pay all of our contributors in the future. For now, Speakeasy is a donation-based passion project, and we hope to maintain transparency about our resources.
